Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Pain Above The Right Hip And In The Back?
hello, for the last 6 years I have been having gallbladder attacks, but for the last week it has gotten way worse and now my back on the left side is hurting off and on to and its right above my hip moving down, as I can tell that the pain is moving when it happens, every day it is the same pain in my back, just slowly moving down. Is it possible that I have either a kidney stone or a gall bladder stone? I have been drinking lots of water and taking OTC ibuprofen. Should I just go in and be seen? when I do have the pain (which is daily now) it is a 8 on the scale.
Welcome to HCM. I am sorry to hear about your problem. I will try to help you out here as much as possible. The most important step regarding the management of your condition is to make sure that no serious acute condition is present. This pain could be related to your gallbladder problem. I would recommend that you go to the nearest ER without wasting your time and get checked. They will order some labs and would do an ultrasound along with some other tests to make sure that it is not your gallbladder. It could be something as benign as a simple back pain but currently I could not reassure you as II am not able to examine you physically.
