What Causes Pain Along With Bulged Veins And Redness In Right Lower Leg?

My husband is experiencing leg pain in his right lower leg when the leg is touched. Leg has no sign of red lines, but veins appear bulged. He has also been experiencing chills with shaking for the last three weeks, but only has a low grade fever of 99.3. He is sedentary, cannot walk at all and sits in a recliner all day and only gets up and gets in wheelchair to go to bathroom and bed. He has COPD, heart condition and diabetes.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi.

The bulging veins are indicative of possible varicose veins, which is why he is experiencing the pain. His sedentary lifestyle has resulted in the veins, and he will have to visit a vascular specialist who will help him to get better.

Best wishes.
