Hello,
Thank you for using HCM.
I went through your question and understand your concern. Normally a woman should have a menstrual bleeding 3-7 days in a row repeated every 21-35 days. Every variation from this needs medical attention.
There are several causes of the irregular bleeding. If you are over 21 years old or sexually active and last pap test was earlier than 3 years ago you will need a pap test. A vaginal examination would show if there is a lump or polyp that might be the cause of the irregular bleeding and a
vaginal ultrasound is an important test also- it will show the inner layer of the
uterus and tell if there is a problem or any mass. If these tests are normal than it is very likely the bleeding is due to
hormonal changes due to un-ovulatory cycles and oral contraceptives might help. Another concern is if you are getting
anemia and a
blood test to rule it out is needed.
If you can not access a doctor soon, something to try, but is not as safe, is that you take combined oral
contraception pills for 2-3 months and if no control of the bleeding than it is not due to hormonal changes but more important cause and you definitely need to see a doctor.
Hope this is helpful and answers to your question.
