Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My lower lip hurts and bleeds especially when I m trying to sleep. I went to a skin doctor and they tried several things and I ended up trying Dr. Dan s Corti Balm. It helps some but I still have the problem. It s painful. I can stop the bleeding for awhile, but it comes back and starts bleeding again. What can I do ?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Bleeding from lip can be due to excessive dryness, injuries, thinning of lip skin due to usw of any harmful lip cosmetics, however certain lip infection and conditions can be a cause. So once consult an Immunologist and get evaluated. For nkw you can apply steroid ointment and see if it improves. Do cool compresses multiple times a day. Apply emollient to keep it lubricated. Avoid sucking the lip.. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Honey Arora
