Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I am having a lot of pain and bloating, unable to pass gas. Had a colonoscopy on Thursday, and I do have a history of Diverticulitis, I have had many colonoscopies since finding a polyp in 1993, and has never triggered my diverticulitis before. I feel better sitting up here. Wondering if I need to go to emergency, or call the doctor when the clinic opens...and what can I do to feel more comfortable right now.
Hi Thanks for posting on HCM I have read and understood your concern Abdominal pain, bloating with inability to pass out gas are not symptoms to take lighly. With a past history of diverticulitis and polyp, i will advise you see the Doctor to eliminate an acute abdomen(like intestinal obstruction) Only a keen examination by the Doctor will help to know what may be the problem. If need be, your Doctor may request for an abdominal utrasound and a plane abdominal film. I will advise you see the Doctor as soon as possible. Hope this will help. You may write back if more concerns Wish you speedy recovery
