What Causes Pain And Bruising Around The Toes?

the vein area on the top of my r foot was hurting for weeks, yesterday the blood vessels broke and there was brusing around my toes and webbing near big toe and second toe. I stand and walk all day for work and must wear tennis shoes, and they hurt the top. Today, the top of my r hand near the vein area is hurting now. I use my hands/arms/elbows all the time. What do you think it could be? Maybe I should ve gone to the Dr today, I had the day off but was busy.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have pain and bruising around the toes . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like gout , athiritis , joint infection or injury like joint dislocation . The symptoms can also occur due to diabetic foot . I would suggest you to keep your foot in hot water tub with espom salt , keep you foot elevated while sleeping , take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain and drink plenty of water . Consult orthopedic surgeon for proper examination . Doctor may order CT scan or MRI of foot along with physical examination . Doctor may also order blood test and urine test . Doctor may prescribe allopurinole , give splint and fix joint , recommend physical therapy , prescribe methotrexate along with muscle relaxant .
