What Causes Pain And Burning In The Testicles?

Hello, my 4 year old son went swimming today for about 5 hours and when he came home he was crying and screaming that his testicles were hurting and burning. They are very red and irritated looking. After his warm bath I put hydrocortisone on them but he is still crying that they hurt. Do you have any idea what could be wrong? I already cut the netting out of his swim trunks weeks ago so it could not be the netting. Thank you.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be an attack of orchitis. Consult a general surgeon or a urologist and get evaluated. A scrotal Doppler is required for further assessment. Nothing much to worry and most cases respond well to antibiotics.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
