What Causes Pain And Burning Sensation In Nose After Having Rhinoplasty?

Had rhinoplasty with rib cartilage 17 days ago. Left side burns and is much more tender and constantly burns and hurts. Also, my body temperature only reaches 95.5. Should I be concerned. Male 71 had a severe nose crushed from accident. Regards, Jim

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi! You need not worry. I will ask you to take short term painkillers until the operated area heals. I will suggest that you take Tramadol 4 to 6 hourly temporarily and that you apply local lignocaine gel (off the shelf usage) as an painkiller to the nasal mucosa. You'll feel better. Thanks, Dr. Neel Kudchadkar
