hi doc very complex problem could spend hours going through procedures been through short is mouth pain where tooth was burning, constant aching have had 6 years have had gamma knife, injections, meds nothing has helped. been to dental specialist at tufts 2 years later said not dental related. believe its t2 trigem but run out of options. tom
Yes, your symptoms are pointing towards nerve related problem and as it is in mouth it can be probably due to Trigeminal Neuralgia only.. It can be due to causes like pressure over the nerve by any large artery, trauma or infection of the nerve etc.. You should first of all consult a Neurophysician and get evaluated.. An MRI scan can be done to rule out the exact cause.. You can be advised Neurotic painkillers like Carbamazipine, Gabapanitin, Baclofen etc.. It there is nerve compression then microvascular decompression can be advised..
