What Causes Pain And Burning Sensation In The Right Ear?
my right ear has a sensation of sting and burn. It usually occurs if i have acidity, i work in night shifts so acidity has been with me since last 6 years and now this has started, my right ear feels blocked sometimes, my right shoulder and right neck all feel jammed, when i try to open my jaw broad then there is hard amount feel in right ear only, sometimes evben the right side of throat feels burning right below the adams apple and right till the end of throath
In my opinion all these symptoms indicate a jaw joint arthritis (TMJ disorder).TMJ disorder is a very common problem, and is generally accompanied by pain radiating to ear , neck and shoulder area. The cause of this problem is difficult to determine, but arthritis is the most common cause.
I suggest you to take anti-inflammatory medication as Ibuprofen twice daily or Naproxen once daily for some weeks. If the pain is persistent and doesn't improve by treatment you should consult a doctor for a physical examination and further treatment, as Cortisone injection, or open joint surgery.
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Suela Gjata,
General & Family Physician
