What Causes Pain And Burning Sensation In The Vaginal Area After Having Sex?

Hi, I haven t had sex in over a year and recently have had sex, I m am 59 and have had a hysterectomy. The first time I had sex it was painful, burning and slightly bleed afterwards. Since about a month now it has gotten more comfortable for me, but have developed a discharge, not really a bad order, just continuously discharge, should I see a doctor right away?

Dear,Thanks for referring to HCM !!

I completely understand your concern and your pain which has effected you.

*considering your age it is possible that you may be having vaginal dryness, this will lead to some amount of friction and pain during intercourse. you can use water based lubricants during sex which will be quite useful.

* if you are having white discharge then you need to get tested . since you have not mentioned the type and character of discharge it is not possible to advise exact medication. But there is a discharge kit available which covers all the microbes causing discharge and treats them. you can get it prescribed.
