What Causes Pain And Contractures In Left Leg And Arm After Physiotherapy?

I am a doctor myself. My mother is almost 85, she had a stroke about 6 yrs ago. Was sudden and happened soon after she came out of the room she had carotid dopplers in. I always wonder whether that procedure probably dislodged a clot. Anyway now the problem is contractures in her left leg and left arm. After todays physiotherapy session she is screaming every half an hour or so, i cant understand why? could it be because of muscle spasms after physio or psycho-somatic. what sh i be doing now. I just gave her a tab of brufen and lexotanil. Any suggestions pl.
