What Causes Pain And Discoloration In The Ring Finger?
what might cause pain in my right ring finger so much so that the whole finger actually turned black and blue as I was looking at it and remained so all of yesterday, throughout the night and is only starting to fade now after 36 hours. I did not hit or bruise it in any way.

The peripheral vascular disease or Vasculitis could be possible in your case.
Colour doppler ultrasonography and physical examination should be done for that.
You need to visit nearby vascular or general surgeon for its management.
The pain could be due to ischemia induced by constriction of blood vessel.
