What Causes Pain And Discomfort In The Anus, Vagina And Inner Thighs?

Hello. I am a 66 yr old female with MS, spinal stenosis, diabetes, and a host of other diagnoses. I have been bothered for a number of years with a buzzing/firing of what I suspect is the pudendal nerve. I don t have pain, just this insescent buzzing sensation at my anus, labia and upper inner thighs. It s interfering with my sleep and overall comfort. What is causing this discomfort, and what can alleviate the problem? Linda

Hi,

We will try to help you in the best way possible. First of all it's sad to know what you had been going through lately.

Based on the history you have shared, it can be nerve related parasthesias and may be part of MS or spinal stenosis and may need nerve suppressants like gabapentin or duloxetine as well as the local application of calamine lotion or comforting or soothing agents.

A neurologist opinion is also advised here nor the same.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
