What Causes Pain And Hardness In The Left Side Of The Stomach?

Hello. My sister is 49. She is having nutrition absorption issues for the past two years. She eats clean, has lost more than 20 pounds (now 120lbs). She has seen a natural path healer for the past year for help and has done a metals detox. She has gained a couple of pounds. But all food and even drinking water makes the left side of her side/stomach(?) hard and hurt. She just went to the Mayo clinic in MN for tests. No results yet. Have you ever heard of such a thing?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think she might be having colitis attack.

Should check with a gastroenterologist. Abdominal ultrasound, colonoscopy, upper endoscopy, liver/kidney/pancreas function tests, together with stool analysis and culture/sensitivity testing in order to determine the right diagnosis.

Discuss this further with her caring doctor.
Start taking probiotics.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
