What Causes Pain And Itching Sensation On Left Side Of Stomach?

My husband has had pain in his left side of his stomach the upper part jyst below his breast. He also complains of it itching and tender to the touch. We have been to the hospital xrays were negative for any mass. No fractures of ribs. He is a type 2 diabetic. The pain and sensitivity continue along with itching now the pain is traveling to his right side. WHAT CAN THIS BE?? PLEASE ADVISE THANKS . MARYLN55@ YAHOO.COM WE ARE NEW TO THE NORTH EAST MD AREA.

Hello dear Greetings
Regarding your husband symptoms of pain around the left stomach area moving to the right and itching sensations following a history of diabetes type 2 I am suggesting he has developed a condition called pruritus with peripheral neuropathy due to excessive sugar deposited in the skin

In view of this please let him always check his blood sugar level regularly

Moreover let him take the following medications for the the above symptoms including the diabetes metformin invocana Vitoria loratyl
