General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The blood tapping needle is of wide bore gauge around 24 or 26 size and hence it is common for some sort of pain and discomfort for a period of half an hour or so. Application of ice over the needle insertion site helps great. If the pain, tingling, numbness remains beyond a period of 1 hour, immediately consult his physician or blood tapping team for further guidance. Congratulate her for donating blood and providing humanity approach for those needy persons in the world. She should feel proud that she has saved someone`s life through her blood components.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
