i slammed my hand in a door just over two weeks ago. there s no bruising or swelling but when pressure is applied from certain angles, it is very painful. sometime the hand goes numb and sometimes I m having difficulty holding on to things. what should I do?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have pain and numbness in hand caused after injury . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like soft tissue injury like tendon or ligament , dislocation or fracture . I would suggest you to consult orthopedic surgeon for proper examination . Doctor may order x-ray , CT scan , or examine physically by checking movement for your hand . Doctor may give plaster with splint , or prescribe muscle relaxant along with anti inflammatory and recommend physical therapy and proper rest . Foe now take proper rest , apply warm compresses and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
