Ive began an exercise regiment a month ago consisting of swimming, dancing and boxing with light weight lifting. Last week at sixflags i was walking fast up ahill and had a pain in my leg followed by a pop, which stpped in dead for a momment, i was able to walk with little pain if i kept my foot flat. Any pressure on the toes cause great pain. I applied ice andit feltbetter after a few days i went swimming then dancing zumba with very little pain UNTIL today and it popped again, and im back to the beginning. What is happening?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

From the description provided by you, it is pointing towards tissue injury. I would suggest you proper rest and ice treatment. In case the pain worsens, you may take Tab Diclofenac. Also, you may apply Diclofenac gel locally. But again, the most important part remains the rest, so that the tissues get proper time for healing, otherwise, it will keep on getting re-injured. In case, the symptoms worsen, please go for radiological examination of the part to rule out any serious damage to the leg.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Maninder, General & Family Physician
