First of all it's sad to know what you had been going through lately.
Based on the history you have shared, it seems to be muscular however any soft tissue deformities like tendon or muscular issues may need to be ruled out by careful location examination by an orthopedic surgeon. X-ray of chest may rule out lung pathology or bony deformities.
Meanwhile OTC analgesics like acetaminophen or Ibuprofen along with muscle relaxants like tizanidine or orphenadrine may be helpful. Physiotherapy and rehabilitation may also be helpful if it interferes with usual functions of daily life.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
