What Causes Pain And Pressure In The Chest?

Hello, I have been experiencing chest pain. Sometimes I think it s my heart, but it feels like my chest is tightening. I can breath fine, but I m not sure if I have an increased heart rate or a slower one. I ve checked when it happened, but it seemed my heart was fine. I was thinking it was heart palpitations. But while I was picking up something heavy. I felt very tired and hot as my chest started to hurt again. Should I worry or wait till it goes away? This has just started.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

There are many medical conditions that cause chest pain.

The cardiac cause should be excluded.

So I would recommend doing an electrocardiogram for further evaluation.

The symptoms can also be related to acid reflux.

I recommend using antacids to lower the level of acid in the stomach.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi,
