Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had caterac surgery 5 weeks ago. Since, I have had three episodes of extreme eye pain and pressure and extremes sensitivity to light, felt like something was in my eye, my eye began running like a little stream for about 20 minutes. After this the pain subsided greatly so I could tolerate seeing again. It was as if the water streaming was a release of pressure. Could that be possible. The dr. Gave me no explanation and I am scared of LOOSEing my vision. Can you tell me was is causing the release of fluid and pressure and if it s dangerous?
The complaints of pain in eyes after working on laptop, computer.... is because of dryness of eyes caused by exposure to system. This is also called as computer vision syndrome. The treatment is by use of artificial tears eye drops. These can be used 2-4 times per day depending on the severity.
Along this few precautions need to be taken like 1. Avoiding continuous use of the system by taking frequent breaks of at least 5 minutes after working for 2 continuous hours. 2. Frequent blinking of eyes while watching system. 3. Use of anti-glare monitors or anti-glare glasses to minimize exposure. 4. Avoiding the use of air conditioner or fan directed towards the eyes while viewing system. 5. Washing the eyes with water 2-3 times a day.
