Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi I have been having unusual headaches, that feel like pressure from high blood pressure. I have been on carditone for several years and it seems to be working fine, but this week it has been going up a lot and the medication doesn t seem to help. I have lots of strokes in my family history and this concerns me. not sure if I need to go to the hospital or just worrying needlessly.
Your concern is very right. However, the headache does not necessarily mean stroke, and rather its uncommon with stroke.
Importnat features of stroke that should alert your con emergency basis include speech problem, facial asymmetry, or weakness in legs or arms.
Yes, high BPay is a reason for a headache. Check your BP regularly, if was persistently high, you can talk to your doctor o increase dose or add on drugs.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Mahboob Ur Rahman , General & Family Physician
