What Causes Pain And Rashes On The Head After A Hair Cut?

Hello, I had my hair cut extremely short with a clipper and after I experience a sharp pain which now has spread into a a red blistering rash across most of my head enface and neck. Could this have been contracted by a unclean contaminated clipper blade? Some of the rash is the width of a clipper blade.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The overall description suggest a forceful use of blunt blade for the haircut. The red blistering is normal inflammatory reaction at the site if friction and injury to the upper layer of skin.

Try applying cold pack and take over the counter anti inflammatory drugs like Ibuprofen with anti allergic pill like Cetirizine. You can also apply a thin layer of steroid skin ointment with antibiotic ointment mixed in it.

In case you have fever and pus collection in blisters, then you need take antibiotics and visit your doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
