I am a 46 yr old woman and last night i had pain in my right armpit. today the pain has spread down my arm and the veins comiing from it are red and sore to the touch. i had a bra on that went pretty high into my armpit and i figure it must have cut circulation off or damaged a lymph node. my question is should i be worried
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have pain and soreness in armpit. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like lymphnode swelling , allergic reaction , viral infection or signs of breast cancer . I would suggest you to take antihistamine like benadryl twice a day , take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain , apply warm compresses thrice a day and keep this area dry and clean . If condition doesn't get well then consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may order allergy test , mammogram or take sample for lab test . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics along with anti inflammatory or immunosuppressants .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
