Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I have chronic pain in my right foot, when I walk for a while like playing golf after a few holes it starts, it gets very sore on the top of the foot in front of the toes and then behind the toes to the ball of the foot and slight back to the arch. Could this be arthritis? and how do I deal with it? Marie
Foot pain after or during walking might be due to plantar fasciitis, metatarsalgia, turf toe etc. These conditions usually account for about 10 to 15% of the foot problems and common in athletes. The most common site for pain - heel, bottom and sides of the foot, big toe. I advise you to: - Do X-ray and a Doppler for further assistance - Use supportive shoes (shoe inserts or arch supports) and night splints - Analgesics for pain and steroids - Physiotherapy
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Yogapriya Vasudevan, General & Family Physician
