Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Yes I had Scoliosis surgery many years ago. Just recently I starting having pain in my upper thigh in the joint area. I tolerate pain very well I stared to notice that on my left side the joint was stiff and I had pain when I tried to cross my leg. While I am sitting I am fine. But now when I walk I have pain so bad I can barely walk. Can you advise what this may be?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have pain and stiffness in pelvic area. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like ankylosing spondylitis , irritable hip , osteoarthritis of the hip , osteomyelitis , sciatica or transient synovitis. I would suggest you to consult orthopedic surgeon for proper diagnosis . Doctor may order nerve conduction test along with physical examination and CT scan or joint . Doctor may prescribe anti inflammatory , muscle relaxant along with recommend physical therapy . Doctor may also refer you to urologist for UTI . For now apply warm compresses , take proper rest and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
