What Causes Pain And Stiffness In The Fingers?

I have pain and stiffness in my fingers lasting all day. If I sit down for more than a few minutes it s hard to get up and moving. After my Pilates classes, walking or gardening, I hurt for days Afterwards. I m 62 , past menopause but still having hot flashes a few times a day, no hormone replacement. What could be wrong? Thank you

Hello,
The pain on the fingers have many causes like infection,injury as tendon inflammation,muscle strain or sprain. arthritis of finger joints etc.but you are having pain with stiffness in your fingers.it seems to me there is osteo arthritis of finger joints thats why you are having pain as well as stiffness. Arthritis, damage of cartilage of joints which works as a cushion and avoid the Friction between the joints so that the joints work properly and not get inflammed or to avoid pain ,stiffness.
but to rule out the exact cause of pain and stiffness consult to ortho and get some investigations like xray,crp,cbc and RA factor etc.
for the Temporary relief,you can take hot water fomentation and any NSAIDs as ibuprofen or naproxen.
