What Causes Pain And Stiffness In The Heel?

I have pain and stiffness that starts at my heel and is primarily centered on my Achilles tendon. About a month ago I accidentally stepped in a deep narrow hole. My leg was trapped up to my calf and I fell forward. I wasn t in pain initially but over time I ve noticed an increase in pain and now I can t walk normally without extreme pain.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

* Possible inflammation of the part of the tendon over heel as there was blunt trauma before a certain time period either as a muscle sprain or strain.

* Ice application, foot elevation, analgesics are the main course of relief till you consult your ortho specialist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel,
General Surgeon
