Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have pain in my left ankle, it is usually relieved by popping it. It occurs in the back and sometimes in the front. At night when I get in bed I have to pop it to relieve leg stiffness. It is painful when walking down stairs. Sometimes I have no pain at all.
Hi The symptoms you describe could be caused by a whole lot of medical conditions.Painful ankle with no notion of trauma could be caused by: Osteoarthritis, Achilles tendinitis, Bursitis, stress fracture ...Only a clear history of the problem with associated symptoms and a keen physical examination by a Doctor can help to reveal the exact cause.I will advise you take pain medication like ibuprofen for say 5 days and observe. If the pain continues, you see a Doctor for examination. Hope my answer will help you Best regards
