Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My mother had serious leg pain for years. She only found relief by enemas. Now for some reason I am having the same severe leg pain and stiffness to where I can t walk. It seems that it gets better after I have several bowel movements. Could it be hereditary? My mom and I both had gastroparresis. My 18 daughter was recently diagnosed with pots syndrome
Let me approach the problem step by step. The first step is to identify whether the problem is involving the joints or whether it is involving the muscles in between. If the problem involves the joints, the orthopedician or more importantly, a rheumatologist would be able to look into the problem. But if the problem involves muscular weakness, the problem could actually be either in the muscles (myopathy), neuromuscular junction, or the end-nerves or motor neurons supplying the muscles. A neurologist can evaluate your child and tell you the exact focus of the problem. You can proceed accordingly thereafter.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
