Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am experiencing a sudden loss of function in my left leg. Sometimes below the knee and today sometimes above the knee. When it happens my leg looses the ability to hold me up and collapses. It is not constant but comes and goes. It is always worse after I have been seated for awhile. It s only in my left leg. I have relapsing-remitting multiple sclerousis but have had several years now without an episode and Dr has taken me off my MS medicine. This does not act like an MS episode. There is no numbness but there is severe pain at times when the leg just gives out and I cannot lift myself with it. Any ideas will help.My email address: YYYY@YYYY
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have pain and sudden numbness in left leg . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like cervical spondylosis , cervical radiculopathy , nerve compression , or symptoms or angina .
But the chances are of nerve problem .I would suggest you to consult orthopedic surgeon for proper examination . Doctor may order CT scan or MRI .
Doctor may prescribe nerve supplement muscle relaxant along with anti inflammatory and physical therapy along with particular stretching exercises . Doctor may also refer you to neurologist for nerve damage . For now eat healthy , and apply warm compresses to legs .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
