Before I acknowledge it my side rib was hurting when I raise my arm well not rib itself but that area so I didn t use that arm much to left things it felt better but 3 days when I checked I felt that vein like feeling on rib cage.....not much of a swelling it slightly hurts when I touch it no discoloration
Noted the history of sharp pain and swelling as you have described. This is classically indicative of distended and inflamed gall bladder or related to the liver or colon.
I would advise you to have an urgent ultrasound of the abdomen, tests of blood for CBC, liver functions; of urine and stool to get the accurate diagnosis and get a plan of treatment.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Ivan R. Rommstein, General Surgeon
