What Causes Pain And Swelling Around The Throat?

I m having some pain/discomfort on the outside of my throat..right above my voice box. No sore throat, haven t been sick. But its quite uncomfortable...almost feels like someone karate chopped my esophagus. My thyroid is slightly swollen (I have nodules), FNA a few months ago was negative. This just started today and is quite annoying.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The pain and swelling around the throat with no sore throat is related to problems with swollen thyroid you have been diagnosed so far.

I highly recommend consulting with an endocrinologist as soon as possible as we should re-evaluate your thyroid status although you already checked a few months ago.

Do not neglect it. Consult immediately with endocrinologist first.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
