What Causes Pain And Swelling In Feet While On Methadone?
The bottom of my feet only have swollen up, walking as well as any kind of movement seems without pain. I have has thoracic arthritis in my past, and I am taking Methadone for it, and have taken it for the past 3 years. Again the pain is only in my feet, and selling up is only in my feet. Thank you for any help you may provide. Axel Ahlers
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have pain and swelling in feet while on Methadone . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like gout , injury , organ failure like kidney and liver . The abnormal immune response causes inflammation in your joints as well as overproduction of skin cells. The symptoms can also occur due to side effects of certain medicine like Methadone . I would suggest you to consult orthopedic surgeon for proper examination. Doctor may order x-ray , MRI , test for rheumatoid factor or joint fluid test . Doctor may prescribe anti rheumatic drugs like methotrexate , immunosuppressants , TNF-alpha inhibitors , steroid injections and in some severe cases joint replacement surgery . For now control your weight , do light exercises , keep them elevated while laying down and apply warm compresses .
