What Causes Pain And Swelling In Joints After Taking Avloclor?

Avloclor can cause neuromyopathy. With what frequency does this occur?

I am 65, weigh 108 pounds and have had problems with my knees as a child and have arthritis. Took avolclor while in India 2 years ago. Approx 7 days in my knees swelled up hugely. I have pain in various parts of my body. Seems to jump around. Wondering if could be caused by drug as a completely new experience of pain and joint problems began at same time as taking.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hello,
I have studied your case. Avloclor is not a known cause of joint pain. I have not seen this in my patients. Rather it is used for Rheumatoid arthritis. So when you developed joint pain and swelling due to this most probably it was just a coincidence.
I would suggest you to get x ray of the knee joint and blood test. if there is any abnormality than we can treat it accordingly.
I hope this answer will be helpful for you. Let me know if there is any other followup questions.
thanks
