What Causes Pain And Swelling In Lower Abdomen?
Hi. I recently learned that my pap smear results are abnormal and also, that I am positive for HPV. I am waiting for my follow up appointment to discuss these results. However, for the past few months, I have also experienced swelling and pain in my lower abdomen as well as irregular periods. Could this all be related?

HI. Yes these can be very well co-related and one should wait till the reports and the clinical examination is done. Remember the clinical examination is very important and the co-relation of all findings alone lead to a proper diagnosis - so important for a management. IT is not worth worrying at the moment as there is always a chance of a benign disease.
