General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM. I have gone through your query. Your problem can be due to various reasons like rheumatologic conditions or due to high level of uric acid. Physical examination by a physician and blood routine , ESR , uric acid and c reactive protein should be done initially to rule out the condition. If it is due to uric acid then controlling protein intake and NSAIDs during acute phase followed by allopurinol therapy will be helpful. In case of rheumatologic conditions further diagnostic tests to confirm the condition and long term therapy will be required. Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
