Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My wife has been to the doctor several times in the last few weeks with pain in her arms. She could not lift her arms over her head for a few days. Our family doctor gave her steroids and told her some long name of what he thought it was. That did not fix the problem so she went back to him and he basically told her that he did not know what was wrong. She got better for about three weeks and now it is in her hands. She cannot lift anything and her hands are swollen. Any ideas about what this could be? Thank you!
It could be a shoulder contusion or condition like frozen shoulder. Consult an orthopedics and plan for an MRI scan to make a diagnosis. As a first line management you can take analgesics like Paracetamol or Aceclofenac for pain relief.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Shinas Hussain,
