Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My clitoral hood is swollen, and pretty painful. I can t walk normally and if I sit for too long, it becomes painful as well. It just started right after using body wash the other night but instead of getting better, it seems to be getting worse. Any remedies that I can try to make the swelling go down? And possibly help the pain?
Hello dear Understand your concern Following are the causes of pain and swelling in the clitoris: Vulvovaginitis, mechanical trauma due to rough sex, vaginal infections, atopic dermatitis. Exact diagnosis should require vaginal examination, urine test and vaginal swab test by consulting the gynecologist. Doctor will give following advice: For infections: single dose of azithromycin + flucanozole + tinidazole. Clotrimazole plus clindamycin suppository. Maintain proper pelvic hygiene by using V vaginal plus wash. Wear pure cotton loose inner wear. Wash vagina with warm salted water or take warm sitz bath. Hope this may help you
