What Causes Pain And Swelling In The Elbow?

My elbow is swollen and in pain. I ve lost range of motion (painful to cannot hold fork to mouth or wash hair). I didn t do a strenuous activity, yet the problem occurred Saturday evening. Feels like VERY sharp knife-like pain inside elbow when I exceed range of motion limits. Hasn t improved last two days with ice pack and warm Epson salts treatments. Strange. Need full use for work tomorrow.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thank you for your query. I am Dr. Rommstein, I understand your concerns and I will try to help you as much as I can.
You should do xrays to see if there is arhritis or tendon injury but in most cases this is just temporary joint inflammation and it should improve on resting, ice and nonsteroid painkillers.

I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us in every time.
Kindly regards. Wish you a good health.
