I dropped a washing machine on my foot about 6 months ago and when it happened I felt something either pull or snap. I got xrays no break it has been swollen and has an uncomfortable feeling. This is on the top of my foot. Hurts to wear shoes. Is this normal? I have been thinking about getting a podiatry appt.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It might be due to minor contusion that have developed after the trauma. As a first line of management you can take analgesics like ibuprofen or Diclofenac for pain relief. Apply ice packs.
You can use a pillow and keep the foot elevated. If symptoms persist, better to consult an orthopaedician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
