What Causes Pain And Swelling In The Knees?

My nephew’s knee is very sore and swollen and he said it makes a clicking noise. Two days ago he went to the walk in clinic. They took an X-ray and found nothing and took blood work which showed no infection. They did use a needle and removed fluid. But he says it is still swollen and very sore. Wants to go back to walk in clinic? Does it pay to go again? Do you have any other suggestions?
