Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of pain and swelling in the left ear which can occur due to accumulation of ear wax, ear fluid and to more serious acoustic neuroma like condition. Need not to worry. Sometimes infection can travel from upper respiratory track to ear through eustachian tube or due to post nasal drip , which in turn occur due to sinusitis. Visit ENT specialist once. Doctor may prescribe drug like eperisone , antibiotics along with anti inflammatory. Maintain hygiene and avoid pricking it with sharp object. Doctor may order certain test like audiometry , CT scan ,MRI , low and high pitched ringing to rule out conditions like hearing loss , exposure to loud noises , earwax buildup , middle ear infection.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
