What Causes Pain And Swelling In The Left Foot?

My left foot has been swollen and hurting for 10 days or more. Now I also have an upper back ache that keeps me awake at night with sharp shooting pains. Both feet hurt in the AM so badly its hard to walk, but the right gets a little better with time, The left does not. The right does not swell. If I had the $ I would pay for diagnosis, but I just dont. Sorry.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

You can have ankle sprain or fracture of any of the foot bone. The pain and swelling both present so I am suspecting that. You can take Ibuprofen or Diclofenac plus paracetamol combination for five days.

Elevate your leg while sleeping. Avoid strenuous activities and take rest. I suggest you investigate with X-ray of foot joint and revert to me.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Parth Goswami, General & Family Physician
