What Causes Pain And Swelling In The Left Hip?

I have a soreness, swelling and limited range of motion in my left hip, which was replaced 10 yrs ago. Injury is a result of lifting furniture. Injury feels like a muscle pull vs hip replacement damage? If I damaged the hip replacement would I have more severe pain and not be able to walk? Hoping that injury is muscle related. Thanks

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I too want to hope that injury is muscle-related, but, unfortunately, I need to say you need to check it out. Need to discuss it further with an orthopedic specialist as soon as possible to rule out possible hip replacement damage.

If nothing, then, it's just pulled muscle. Take magnesium meanwhile. But, remember consulting with an orthopedic specialist is your only solution.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
