What Causes Pain And Swelling On The Right Thumb?

My wife age 82 fell at Line Dancing hitting her right shoulder on a wooden floor. She went tp an urgent care facility and two xrays were taken with no broken bones indicated. Now about 10 hours later her right thumb area is remarkable swollen with pain. What could be wrong? Thank you.

Hi,

It seems soft tissue injury without bone fracture. If fever is not there start with anti-inflammatory medicines like Diclofenac tablets along with serratiopeptidase twice daily.

If swelling increases in size and fever is there then antibiotics must be required. For that, you should consult a physician.
