What Causes Pain And Tenderness In Cervix After Having Intercourse?

This morning I experienced pain during intercourse, like my uterus/cervix is very tender. Several hours later I still feel tenderness/pain in uterus, especially when coughing or moving, also low back pain. I had a miscarriage 2 months ago, with increasing menstrual symptoms every month since. This is my week to ovulate but usually just have slight pinching sensation in ovaries with ovulation. Why is my uterus so painful?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Pain in the cervix or uterus after intercourse with recent history of miscarriage indicates inflammatory lesion in pelvis called 'pelvic inflammatory disease' (PID).
You need to be clinically evaluated by Gynecologist and undergo ultrasound pelvic & abdominal scan to confirm the diagnosis.
In case pelvic inflammation is present, it needs to be treated by administration of appropriate course of antibiotics and antiinflammatory-analgesic drugs.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
