What Causes Pain And Tenderness In Lymph Nodes?

I haven't felt good for two days now. Hot/cold sweats for a while today but my body temp was 96.7 today while I felt hot. Didnt check my temp the last couple of days so I don't know if I had a fever or not. I was sore all over until just now but my neck is real tender where my lymph nodes are behind my jaw bone? These are the symptoms Thank you
