Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 65 year old male in good health. The last six weeks I have experienced tender, sensitive and sore nipples. I assumed this condition would ultimately go away but it has not. They tend to be most sensitive when I wake up in the morning. I would greatly appreciate your feedback on this unusual condition. Many thanks, Jeff
Before running into final conclusions about the causes of sensitive nipples you have been experiencing the last 6 weeks, I need to ask a few more questions: - have you been on any hormonal treatment recently? - do you have any discharge? or have you noted any change in your nipples (internal retraction)? - please palpate your breasts: do you notice any lump? or any lump under the armpit? - do you go to gym? - is the soreness relieved after taking paracetamol or ibuprofen?
A photo of your both breasts and nipples is needed to evaluate the external changes in the skin.
Please see your physician for further evaluation. All the best.
